Guild Mortgage Becomes a Three-Time Military Friendly® Employer, Earning Gold Status for 2026

Guild Mortgage, a nationally recognized retail mortgage lender, earned the 2026 Military Friendly® Employer designation for the third year in a row, scoring the high-achieving Gold ranking.

Given to companies that foster a supportive culture and policies for service members, veterans and their families, plus invest resources toward recruitment, retention and advancement opportunities, a Military Friendly® Employer designation shows a workplace’s commitment to honoring American heroes and the diverse skillsets they offer. Companies are scored using both public and internal data sources in addition to survey responses.

Initially awarded the Military Friendly® Employer recognition for 2024, Guild achieved Bronze status for the first time. For 2025, Guild scored even higher, earning another Military Friendly® Employer designation with Silver status. The latest 2026 Gold award is proof of Guild’s consistent commitment and enthusiasm for creating an environment that service members, veterans and their families thrive in.

Guild was nominated by The Seventh Branch*, one of the company’s Business Resource Groups that hosts networking events, donation drives, luncheons and volunteer opportunities for service members, veterans and their families. They also participate in VA loan trainings to boost rates of Military homeownership. Members convene once a quarter, with the group coming together annually for a Salute and Serve Luncheon in Guild’s San Diego corporate office.

The Seventh Branch has successfully championed several causes, including the recognition of Veterans Day as a paid company holiday, paid time off for Military-related events and Military designations for Guild’s company email signature lines. In collaboration with Guild Giving, the Seventh Branch also sponsored events such as care kit distributions for service members, Operation Homefront Back-to-School Brigade, holiday meal deliveries for Military families and donations to Home For Our Troops, which builds custom homes for severely injured veterans. A handful of members also end the year participating in Habitat for Humanity Veterans Build in San Diego.

As a Military spouse, Senior Loan Officer Kelsey Rasmussen spearheads The Seventh Branch as president and credits Guild with being able to continue working. “It can be really difficult on the spouse side. We end up leaving a lot of jobs following our spouses. Finding a company that will have us is really nice.”

Loan Officer Rick Rangel added, “Guild Mortgage is more than just a company. It's a community that values discipline, service, and purpose,” he said. “As a 21-year U.S. Army Veteran, I found that the transition to Guild felt natural because the core values I lived by in the military—integrity, commitment, and teamwork—are deeply embedded in Guild’s culture. We get flexibility and purpose, which allows me to work alongside my wife Sherri Rangel, a Branch Manager, and still explore the world with our kids, Dani and Zach.”

Erica Grajales, Lead Compensation Administrator in Guild’s Human Resources department said, “For two years, I worked in San Diego, building relationships and contributing to Guild’s mission. Then we received Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders to the East Coast. The HR leadership believed in me and my abilities enough to take a chance. They made me the first remote corporate HR employee. That trust allowed me to prove that remote work could succeed at the corporate level. Over time, others were given the same opportunity. I’m proud to say I helped set that example.”

Guild will be featured alongside other 2026 Military Friendly® Employers in the winter issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine and online at MilitaryFriendly.com.
